Projects and CMF

May 27th, 2010

Everyone at UbseyMovies is currently working on their own projects. Eventually, we’re going to cross over and start working on each others projects as they become more developed.

Jon is writing a directing a short film tentatively titled Green Belt Warrior. It begins shooting in June and stars Jeff.

Jeff is currently working on EarthBound Saga Chapter 5, Green Belt Warrior, as well as attempting to write his first feature length script.

Robert is the assistant director on San Jose State University’s feature length film. He’s also doing a lot of commercial projects.

Robbie is working on a few short film scripts of his own, he’s the director of photography for Green Belt Warrior, and studying screenwriting.

We’re going to Las Vegas for the CMF 2010 finale June 10th – 13th. Vigorade & Bobby’s House are both nominated for things. You can help us win audience choice by doing the following:

TEXT BOBBY to 37589 as many times as possible to help Bobby’s House win the audience choice award at the Campus Movie Fest 2010 Finale in Las Vegas!

Vigorade CMF update & new shorts!

January 29th, 2010
Hello world! I just realized we never posted the results from the CMF regionals this year. So down to brass tacks.
We didn’t win anything; however, we were part of the top 16, so that means we’ll be going to the international finale again this summer!
Speaking of the CMF international finale: Here are two old movies, one of which was made during our trip to Los Angeles last year for CMF.

Calvin (An Elliot Kane Overload)

January 21st, 2010

Recently we put the finishing touches on “Calvin,” the project we spent the summer writing and filming. Although Calvin may not be our best work, it’s nevertheless an achievement for us. We’d like to thank everyone who helped us make it, because we couldn’t have done it without you.

At a restaurant, Calvin runs into a girl he’s liked since high school and decides to order a milkshake for her; unfortunately, he doesn’t have enough money.”

Lost crappy videos from 2005 – 2008!!

December 29th, 2009

Lately Robbie has been having some fun going through, compressing, and uploading old videos we whimsically made from 2005 to 2008. You can check them out on the UbseyGang youtube account.

I suppose it goes without saying, but just in case: These movies are intended to be bad, and laughed at.

And possibly more to come! Enjoy.

We just finished our CMF entry for this year. “A bulky clod who only drinks the sports beverage Vigorade, has his loyalty tested when a vending machine eats his two dollars.”

Duel of the Brothers

August 31st, 2009

Geocities is shutting down their servers for good this coming October; Robbie was saving his old websites, when he came across this.

arachnid-man_costumeBack in March of this year, our friend Jeremy Inman asked Robbie and me (Jeff) to make a 1970′s Spider Man movie parody to be played during his feature length film: Super Hero Party Clown.

A few days ago Robbie and I wrapped our shoot for the 70′s segment, which consisted of an obligatory warehouse fight and an origin scene.

Robbie starred as the 70′s Arachnid-Man, and I was directing.

The first day of shooting was in the basement of the San Jose State theater, which was frightening because literally just as we walked in we saw a man putting up a sign for asbestos. Read the rest of this entry »
