UbseyMovies wins Turner Classic Movies (TCM) Classic Short Film Award
Our movie "Chicken Strip Jeff" won the 'Classic Short Film Award' presented by Turner Classic Movies at the CMF Bay Area Grand Finale. What does that mean? That means we're going to be on the Turner Classic Movies Channel! That's national television baby!

We don't know about exact dates yet, but we do know it'll be early 2007.





"The Campus MovieFest Bay Area Grand Finale, held at the famed California Theatre in San Jose, featured the top 16 short movies made in one week from over 10,000 students this Fall at Stanford University, UC Berkeley, San Jose State University, Sonoma State University, and Santa Clara University."

What's next for UbseyMovies?
Well, probably a good few weeks of relaxing; a lot has been going on this month, and we're pretty glad it's just about over.

We'll probably make some new UbseyTV Episodes - And perhaps soon... A third chapter of EarthBound! (WOW!)
No promises! Because were bad with those, very bad.

UbseyMovies wins the San Jose State University Campus Movie Festival - 10.16.2006

On Friday the 13th, the "SJSU Campus Movie-Fest Finale" was held
116 teams entered, and very very few would move on to the California State Finals.
Somehow, our movie Chicken Strip Jeff, won the "Best Picture Award," and a $7,500 scholarship to SJSU.
Robbie, Jeff, Robert, and Jon were able to go up on stage in front of 1500+ people, and with their knees shaking, they accepted the award.
Hopefully, there will be a video of it sometime soon on CampusMovieFest.com.
If there is, we'll be sure to include it in a future news update.

EarthBound Saga - Chapter TWO - 09.27.2006

As it begins to near 17500 views
on youtube.com, we're starting to wonder if we'll ever make something GOOD that will get this much attention.
However, our work is being enjoyed! And that's what we love/want, so no use in saying, "Waah waah, poor us, we only have 17k+ views on our movie..."

No news yet, but we DO know that we're only making it if the script is well put together; unlike our other movies.

EarthBound: The Movie - 08.31.2006

In the last week,
we uploaded our first chapter of "EarthBound." - A purposefully poorly made adaptation of the cult classic SNES game, "EarthBound" (or "Mother 2" in Japan).
It was made in a matter of three hours last December (2005); we completed the project, and had plans to post it on Starmen.net (the most popular EarthBound fan site) for an audience who loves the game as much as we do. The feedback has been nothing but positive, the hits are well past three thousand on youtube at this point. We'd really like to thank everyone from Starmen, IGN, Myspace, and youtube who are supporting this movie.

We got our NEW camera!
Yesterday, we finally got our new camera. We'll be shooting a ton of movies as soon as we can. However, we have some sad news about Robert & Robbie 2...

Robert & Robbie 2 "Shelved"
The production of R&R2 has come to a grinding hault, it was discussed that we were biting off more than we can chew; instead of shooting it for three to four months (Maybe even more, who knows) we've decided to make some short films. This will help us grow as filmmakers, and THEN we'll be ready to take on a huge project like R&R2.


Walter... TWO!?
"Wait, no.. NO WAY! Is that even possible!? How can that be?"
-The cowboy is back, fighting more evil in "ACT 2" of Walter Texas Ranger.
The story is still being worked out, but it looks to be pretty funny.
Lets all just hope that it can be done...Why? Well!

- WALTER ATTEMPTED SEQUEL TIME LINE -

* Summer 2005: A month after the original Walter was made, a sequel (and not a very good one at that) was 1/4 of the way filmed, due to emotional problems and differences of the cast, the crew was never brought back together to finish the movie.

* Spring Break 2006: Seven months after the last go at "ACT 2" of Walter, Tim Robbie and Jeff sat around for nine hours trying to think of a story. One came to them, and they thought they were ready. * THE NEXT DAY: It's raining outside and the Cannon XL1 (Our camera) is broken. *

So, maybe third time's the charm, right?

Ahh! What a month! - 08.15.2006

Shooting begins on R&R2!

Yes, we have FINALLY started filming the second Robert & Robbie -- And how hard it is...
You see: We do NOT have our camera yet, even though we ordered it three weeks ago, it has yet to come for reasons out of our hands. BUT! that hasn't stopped us yet; we've been using our pals camera, (Thank you very much Jason.)


No Camera = No Movies
Since we don't have a camera to just grab at any moments notice to make a movie, we won't be uploading many new videos. However; once we DO get the camera, we'll be cranking out movies like a young lion!
We also got a new boom mic! And you know what that means, right?
Better sound! Less over dubbing! and a happier crew!

Chicken Muncky Squad!!!!!

So, we've posted a little movie called Chicken Muncky Squad onto Yahoo Video. Little did we know, it became the Featured Video of Yahoo and it also got (so far) over 6000 views. So it's pretty safe to assume that many of you are new to our site.

Well...welcome, I guess.

For the sake of our reputation and the respect from all of you, please understand that we were not serious. Unless you think we were and you enjoyed it more that way. In which case, believe whatever makes you appreciate our movies the most.

Chicks, Chips, Oh My!


4 teenage guys brag about their women successes stories while snacking on chips. Eventually one chip remains and it becomes not only a battle of rhetoric but of physical strength to determine its rightful, deserving owner.

The Backyard Reality TV Show


Five odd characters befriend and betray in this mock reality game show set in a backyard. Jeff, a marksman, improves his aim by shooting cans, which are obsessed over by a homeless woman, who befriends a Minnesotan chair collector, who's firewood-collecting partner is a girl who believes she resides in a jungle and is attracted to strong, masculine men such as Jon, a hardened ex-marine and the antagonist who stirs up a love triangle to top off this intricate plot.

We're so very close to getting the new camera

...so expect us to begin production of Robert and Robbie II fairly soon, as well as some smaller projects.

Our movie-making will be put on a slight hiatus for a while. Our camera is currently unoperable, but we will be trying to raise money for a much better one.

Also, for the next Robert and Robbie we'll be actually working with a budget. We're working on an actual script, so we can tell you already that it's going to be a much better story. There will be more (and better) characters, a larger adventure (we felt the overall scope of Muttonchop Gwobs was much too narrow and limited), and the knowledge of the mistakes and downfalls of the first Robert and Robbie.

Does anyone even like them anymore? I sure don't. In fact, I'm so angry at them that I am going to tell them, "Hey, Robert and Robbie! I dislike you immensely!" Such will be my quest.

Wow, sorry.

So, because of a matter that is pretty much out of our hands, we cannot finish Robert and Robbie quite by Valentine's Day. Give us one or two weeks, and we should have it done for you. Pinky swear.

In conclusion...

From now on I'll try to give you estimated release dates that are more realistic. It'll make everyone happier, especially me.

Even so, keep in mind that almost all release dates are tentative.

We're still working on fixing some things...

...around the site. Keep checking back every once in a while to see what's new and what you should ignore.

Hutch Script

Jeff is working on the script for the second episode of Hutch right now. On a related topic, we're going to try writing full-fledged scripts for all of our movies from now on (whereas before, most of the scripts were improvised or thought up on the spot). This may mean longer pre-production times, but it will almost certainly cut down on filming and editing times by a huge margin. This is good news for everyone. Especially me.

I don't care why it's good especially for me, it just is. Leave me alone.

But we're definitely shooting for a release of Robert and Robbie: Muttonchops Gwobs around Valentine's Day. So stop being such a materialistic pig, don't buy any gifts for your significant other, and get ready for some laughing! Last weekend, all of the members of UbseyMovies watched a special screening of a roughly edited version of Robert and Robbie: Muttonchop Gwobs. We all critiqued it, so Robbie can try to polish and edit it to the best of his abilities.

What a wonderful week full of love. - 01.09.2006

Okay. So, I'm a liar. A disgraceful liar. I'm sorry for that. I'll try not to do it any longer.

Yeah, so Robert and Robbie is pushed back to February. I'm sorry, I got everyone's hopes up. I feel ashamed, and I promise to try not to do it again kind of.

We're 90% done shooting, though, and we had to go back and fix some problems, but hopefully most of the wrinkles have been ironed out. Figuratively of course. Robert and Robbie as a collective cannot have wrinkles.

Oh, the powers of Persuasion! - 12.11.2005

Okay. We lied. Hutch isn't up yet.

You know how it is when you just get a little distracted? Your mind starts wandering, your eyes may begin to become drowsy, and the inevitable nose-running occurs. Not literally, of course. Noses do not, cannot, and will never have legs.

But anyway, that's what happened to Robbie as he was sitting down to edit Hutch. That, and everyone was just working so hard on the Coconut Juice DVD and Robert and Robbie. We should have Hutch for you by next week, surely.

...is almost finished. Just working out some bugs. It will be well worth the wait.

Speaking of Robert and Robbie...

...we're almost done filming it. It could be said that we're 96% done, but that would not be an accurate mathmatical calculation and you really shouldn't trust numbers so easily. But it is safe to say that the percentage is somewhere around that area.
The runtime will be about 30 minutes long, and yes, we are in fact able to maintain the funniness for thirty minutes. As we said in the last update, it is looking to be one of our funniest and best projects yet.

Our plea to you, our favorite fan

Yes, I am in fact talking to you. Yes YOU. The person reading this right now.
...Not really, I'm just saying that so it will make the following feel more personal, but let's just pretend for a minute.

We really need our fans to help us out in advertising, especially once Robert and Robbie: Episode 1 is released.
There will be almost no greater service to us, if you enjoy our movies, than to help us get a larger fanbase. This is a genuine and sincere plea for help from all of you.
Here are some ways you can help us advertise:

1. The easiest and most effective way is by word of mouth. If you enjoy us, please tell your friends. Invite them over to watch some of your favorite UbseyMovies, or demand that they download the movies themselves.

2. The internet. Simply put an UbseyMovies.com link in your AIM profile. Make Myspace bulletins advertising us. Tell your forum friends about us. Send out chain e-mails.

3. Physical (non-cyber) advertisment. Print out our flyers (or make your own) and put them up on community bulletin boards (they can be found at parks and libraries). If you have one, wear one of our T-Shirts to a large gathering. Write UbseyMovies.com on your desk at school. Spray paint it onto the police station, whatever.

Hutch and Others - 12.05.2005

Hutch's Video Journal:
We've completed filming Hutch's Video Journal: Entry One, and we should have it online within the next week or two, depending on how quickly we can edit things.

While you're waiting, however, you can get a taste of what Hutch is like by visiting his Myspace. Friend him and get your friends to friend him, and get those friends to friend with the friends of him, and maybe you can all have a party.

Robert and Robbie

It will still be a while before we finish up the first episode of Robert and Robbie, due to some trouble getting the actress that we need and simply finding the time to finish filming. However, the good news is that it's turning out to be one of our best projects yet.

On a related note, we're also close to finishing the script for the second Robert and Robbie episode.

IMPORTANT: UbseyMovies may soon be switching file formats from Windows Media to Quicktime

It's still a bit up in the air, but doing so would increase our efficiency tremendously.

Update? Yes. - 11.24.2005

UbseyMovies.com has gone through some changes.
Now there will be a news (and perhaps video) update every week, in order to keep you interested.

We have some new free movies coming soon: A Look at Chuck E. Cheese, Hutch’s Video Journal, and the first episode of Robert and Robbie.

Speaking of Robert and Robbie, we’re almost done filming the first episode -- Even though we’ve been shooting for over 3 months.
We hope it to be out by the end of December; we’ll begin shooting the second episode not long after that.


Yo, Myspace users
We have plans to make a page for html codes that you can copy and paste in your profile, comments, or bulletins. They’re basically advertisements that we don’t pay you a dime for, but they'll still look pretty frickin’ cool.


Myths
Filming is close to completion -- After that, it’s all up to Robbie in visual effects and editing from there.
Robbie assumes that it should be done around spring break. So if you don’t want to drink beer and watch girls' boobs, you'll have Myths loaded and ready for yah’.

The Latest - 9.16.2005

Quite a bit has developed since we last updated. We've made a new short, Walter Texas Ranger VS. The Zombies, shot more of Myths, and infact made a teaser for it. Check it out here! We've begun shooting the first episode of Robert and Robbie, "Muttonchop Gwobs," and finally bought a decent, NLE system exclusive for UbseyMovie-making. One of our own, Tim Rodriguez, is leaving for college today. Hope all goes well, buddy! You've helped us plenty; thanks.
7:13PM of the Living Dead has been dropped due to Jeff's laziness and lack of interest. Robbie's currently pre-occupied with other projects to fund UbseyMovies, but once those clear up, some more new stuff should get uploaded, so stay tuned!

Shirts-
Okay, we know you want shirts. let's face it, who doesn't want to prance around wearing out trendy threads? The shirts will be released around the end of this month. We promise on that one.

Coconut Juice -DVD-
We've decided to sell copies of Coconut Juice on DVD, with a commentary by Robbie, Jeff, and Robert. Plus deleted scenes that weren't shown before. The DVD will run for about $10.00 *that's including shipping in the USA*.

48hour Film Project
Our film, "Cut to the Chase" (directed by Robbie); came in the top 13 out of 26 entries.
Though we didn't win, we still met some great people whom we look forward to working with in the future.

Update - 7.16.2005

Great news, our team has been accepted into the 48 hour film project! Starting today, we'll be filming a short test movie for some practice. Then on Sunday the 17th, it will be screened in a theatre in front of some random people, most likely just the people who help make it.. We might have the test film online. Lately we've been filming a lot of Myths, still hoping to get that all finished by the end of August.
We've got some great scripts for the Robert and Robbie series. We're all looking forward to shooting those.

Welcome! - 7.1.2005

UbseyMovies.com is now open, so spend all your time here instead of ebay and myspace! We're hoping "Myths" will be released this summer. Shooting has already begun, and we're also scripting and preparing for a few other free shorts, "Robert and Robbie", and more. 7:13pm of the Living Dead might begin to be shot some time around late July or early August. We would like to put a lot of emphasis on the word "might". There's a possibility of Ubsey Movies having a major involvement in a team for San Fransisco's 48 Hour Film Project. If selected, we'll definitely have the final product online. Take a look at "Project: Bwuh" to help spread the word of UbseyMovies.com -- Our popularity and productions rely on you and your buddies to get Ubsey Movies known!
