Green Belt Warrior – A Jon Magram Short Film

This short film was a summer 2010 collaboration — Jon Magram wrote and directed with Robbie Benson behind the camera, and Jeff Benson in front of it. Robert Krakower and Jon produced the film assisted by a crew of top notch SJSU film & animation students, and of course starring a talented cast of actors. This production was one of the funnest to work on because of everyone involved, so thanks to all of them!

A 17-year old martial arts student named Jeffrey struggles to earn his green belt, but in order to do so he must first beat 13-year old Jad in a sparring match.

Milkshake: A Malti-path Adventure (Holy-Ubsey-Homage!)

Holy homage! The UbseyMovies fan art contest is still happening. In fact we’re stretching the deadline out from July to December.

The new deadline for entries is: December 31 2011. Prizes include DVD’s, props and burned out lighting fixtures from our assorted film sets.

So no matter if you can’t get enough Jon Magram or you just love UbseyMovies a whole lot! You’ll find this choose-your-own-adventure style Ubsey-game very enjoyable, perhaps even lovable! Don’t miss this event! Because a few hours into the broadcast, we’ll be premiering Jeff B.’s new short film, The Lizard King. In addition, we’ll be talking about some Campus Movie Fest news, including our Best Directing nomination for Elliot Kane! Elliot Kane – Wins BEST PICTURE @ SJSU (CMF 2010)

This is quite possibly our final entry for Campus Movie Fest 2010.

We wanted to do a mystery/film noir with Elliot Kane. This is what came out. Enjoy!

We managed to win Best Picture at SJSU, which entitled us to an ipod, final cut studio 3, and admission to the international grand finale in spring 2011. So CMF is going very well for us this year! Thanks y’all!

Projects and CMF

Everyone at UbseyMovies is currently working on their own projects. Eventually, we’re going to cross over and start working on each others projects as they become more developed.

Jon is writing a directing a short film tentatively titled Green Belt Warrior. It begins shooting in June and stars Jeff.

Jeff is currently working on EarthBound Saga Chapter 5, Green Belt Warrior, as well as attempting to write his first feature length script.

Robert is the assistant director on San Jose State University’s feature length film. He’s also doing a lot of commercial projects.

Robbie is working on a few short film scripts of his own, he’s the director of photography for Green Belt Warrior, and studying screenwriting.

We’re going to Las Vegas for the CMF 2010 finale June 10th – 13th. Vigorade & Bobby’s House are both nominated for things. You can help us win audience choice by doing the following:

Hello world! I just realized we never posted the results from the CMF regionals this year. So down to brass tacks.

We didn’t win anything; however, we were part of the top 16, so that means we’ll be going to the international finale again this summer!

Calvin (An Elliot Kane Overload)

Recently we put the finishing touches on “Calvin,” the project we spent the summer writing and filming. Although Calvin may not be our best work, it’s nevertheless an achievement for us. We’d like to thank everyone who helped us make it, because we couldn’t have done it without you.

“At a restaurant, Calvin runs into a girl he’s liked since high school and decides to order a milkshake for her; unfortunately, he doesn’t have enough money.”
